Alex was born and raised at the foot of the Usambara Mountains, went to Mlalo primary school and Kibasila Secondary School before finishing his middle school education at Azania Secondary School.
After finishing his middle school education he went to Tourism College in Dar es Salaam for two years, and continued after his diploma of tourism for a 6 months apprenticeship with Elephant Adventure Tours & Safaris. From there he began to learn all about the tourism trade and has since then worked with several tour companies such as Prestige Tours and safaris, Nyika Treks and safaris and many more before starting his own safari company, Usambara Expeditions, named for the wonderful and hospitable mountains that are his birthplace.
With over 10 years of experience leading Trekking and Safaris throughout Tanzania, he loves to share his appreciation for the environment, animal life, and natural wonders of his country and you will also experience this through the manner in which the company conducts its safaris.
